The Gordon Research Seminar on Drinking Water Disinfection By-Products is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other early-career scientists to present new data, exchange cutting-edge ideas, and form an active research community in a casual setting.
The 2017 GRS technical session will focus on bringing together multidisciplinary research to address the balance of microbial and chemical safety of water. The topics will include, but are not limited to, mechanistic exploration of disinfection mechanisms and byproduct formation pathways, new analytical capabilities, high throughput toxicity evaluation, and assessment of public health outcomes. Such an holistic approach is critical for meeting the emerging challenges in wastewater recycling, desalination, and treatment of other alternative water sources. The 2017 GRS will also feature a mentoring session with panelists from the industry, academia, and utilities from the U.S. and abroad.
