The Gordon Research Seminar on RNA Editing is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
The 2017 GRS will focus on the biology of RNA and DNA modification with a keynote talk from Dr. Harold Smith, who is a professor at the University of Rochester, the president of the biotechnology company Oyagen, and the original founder of the RNA Editing Gordon Research Conference (GRC). The GRS will immediately precede the GRC, and most participants will register for both meetings. The GRS will have three sessions provisionally titled Nucleic Acid Editing and Disease, Nucleic Acid Modification Machinery, and Cutting-Edge Nucleic Acid Technologies. These sessions aim to connect fundamental molecular mechanisms with the technologies and potential therapeutic applications that drive the editing field. In addition, the GRS will include two poster sessions providing an opportunity for all trainees to present and discuss results. The synergistic arrangement of the GRS and GRC will provide multiple opportunities for trainees to build professional networks and foster collaborations.
