The 2017 Gordon Research Conference on Fibronectin, Integrins and Cell-Matrix Signalling will be held between 29 January and 2 February in Ventura, California. This conference has emerged as the premier international scientific meeting for those interested in how the extracellular matrix guides cell and tissue function. The conference will explore the latest research that delineates the way cell-matrix adhesion is controlled, the contribution of the integrin adhesome to cell and tissue function in normal biology, and how cell-matrix adhesion becomes perturbed in diseases. A Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) in this research area, which is for PhD students and postdocs, will precede the conference on 28 and 29 January.
The Gordon Conference will encourage attendees to explore new research directions by showcasing the latest advances in imaging, biosensors, mechanobiology, developmental models, as well as clinical translation. The sessions will engage mid-career principle investigators in more that half of the presentations. They will also provide a forum for short talks selected from abstracts and those attending the Gordon Research Seminar, and for all investigators in poster sessions. Leaders in the field will participate as session chairs, and each of the conference talks will be accompanied by extensive discussion in order to enhance the impact of the meeting.
