活动简介

With the rapid pace of industrialization and urbanization comes a significant increase in atmospheric aerosol concentrations. Atmospheric aerosols produced by human activites and from natural processes significantly impact radiation, clouds, precipitation and regional and global climate. In this context, atmospheric aerosol has been selected as the topic for this year’s international conference of CAS-TWAS-WMO Forum on Climate Science (CTWF). And the 2016 CTWF international conference is jointly organized with the annual meeting of (1) AeroCom, an open international initiative of scientists interested in the advancement of the understanding of global aerosol modeling, large-scale measurement, and aerosol impacts on climate, and (2) AERO-SAT, an international consortium of experts on aerosol remote sensing from ground and space.

The main goal of the joint conference is to bring together experts to exchange ideas, discuss scientific problems in depth, and consider suitable solutions to aerosol-related issues through coordinated efforts. The meeting will consist of invited lectures followed by plenary discussions. There will also be sessions with contributed oral or poster presentations.

In order to understand the roles of aerosol in climate and environmental changes, and to educate the future generation of scientists, the CAS-TWAS Center of Excellence for Climate and Environment Sciences (ICCES) will organize three-day international lecture courses on atmospheric aerosol. Please note that further information can be found on the dedicated website for international lecture courses.
