With the rapid pace of industrialization and urbanization, there is a significant increase of the atmospheric aerosol concentrations. Atmospheric aerosols produced from human activities and natural processes significantly impact radiation, clouds, precipitation and regional and global climate. Aerosol pollution also has deteriorate effects on air quality, visibility, and causes substantial environmental, societal and economic issues.
In order to understand the roles of aerosol in climate and environmental changes, and to educate the future generation of scientists, the CAS-TWAS Center of Excellence for Climate and Environment Sciences (ICCES) will organize three-day international lecture courses on atmospheric aerosol.
