Humanitarian operations, be they short or long-term, localised or global, incorporate the use of military and civilian aerospace assets to deliver much needed aid to those in need. This conference will explore the potential for the development of military and civil interoperability in humanitarian operations. From the initial detection and monitoring of developing events to the establishment of long term airlifts, this event will focus on the ways civilian and military air operations can work together in dealing with humanitarian relief missions, from start to finish.
The conference will aim to answer questions on the following points How can civil and military operators learn from past missions about how to work together to deliver successful aid operations? How vital are detection and monitoring assets in the outcome of modern operations and how can this information be disseminated to operators? How will command and control be influenced by potential future civil-military cooperation? What role do commercial providers play in humanitarian operations?
