The organizing committee invites you to participate in the XIth International Symposium on Plum and Prune Genetics, Breeding and Pomology which will take place in Freising-Weihenstephan from July 17 to 21, 2016, under the auspices of the Plum Working Group of the International Society for Horticultural Science. This conference will offer the opportunity for researchers and fruit growers to present recent data in front of an interested auditory of experts. The extraordinary environment of the conference venue will favor deep discussions about novel problems and innovative solutions around the plum. Subjects will be breeding and genetics in European and Japanese plum, the development of new varieties and interspecific hybrids, sanitary and phytopathological aspects, orchard and canopy management, economics and marketing, bioactive compounds and human health.
Oral presentations and posters are highly welcome.

Broad focus on European an Japanese plum, sloe, myrobalane and other Prunus species used for fruit production.
Explicitly, research and other reports on both European (Prunus domestica L.) and Japanese plum (P. salicina Lindl), interspecific hybrids of the mentioned fruit species with other Prunus species and wild grown Prunus species (e. g. P. spinosa or P. cerasifera) used for food production are very welcome.
