Transportation systems in China have been drastically developed over the past three decades. The vast country is now cross-linked effectively through various modes of transportation with modern infrastructure, including high-speed rail, airports, highways, and waterways. The science and technology in transportation have also been significantly advanced with mega-sized institutions and industries. Numerous conferences, symposiums, and workshops are conducted in China every year to share research findings and practical experiences in transportation. However, there is a lack of a comprehensive conference serving as a global platform in China. The Transportation Research Congress (TRC) is intended to serve as one such global platform for researchers, educators, practicing engineers, investors, entrepreneurs, and governmental officials from all over the world. At TRC, experts will present the latest research findings, exchange research ideas, share experiences and lessons learned, showcase successful innovations and practices, identify research and educational needs, and provide consultations to the transportation community on a regular basis.

Transportation Research Congress (TRC) is jointly organized by universities, research institutes, industries, and China Highway and Transportation Society. TRC aims at providing an international platform for incubating, leading, demonstrating and implementing innovations, and ultimately evolves into a think tank for transportation innovations. 

The first TRC conference will mainly cover topics on new ideas, new methodologies, new technologies, new materials, and new equipment. Major themes of the conference include transportation infrastructure and materials, transportation planning and operations, and cross-cutting issues and emerging technologies.
