It is with great pleasure that I announce, on behalf of the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC), the 14th FEPSAC European Sport Psychology Congress organised by the Institute of Sport Science of the University of Bern in collaboration with the Swiss Association of Sport Psychology (SASP) from the 14th to the 19th of July 2015 in Bern. With this congress, FEPSAC is returning to one of its founder member countries at the forefront in FEPSAC’s development: Firstly, Swiss support was provided in the form of two former FEPSAC Presidents, namely Guido Schilling who acted as FEPSAC’s second President from 1975 to 1983 and Roland Seiler who took up the Presidency from 2003 to 2007. Secondly, our Swiss colleagues also organised the VIth FEPSAC European congress in Magglingen in 1983 with the congress theme of ‘Excellence and Emotional States in Sport’, bringing together 160 colleagues from 27 countries with many high level presentations in one of three official congress languages (English, German and French)! Keeping in tradition with FEPSAC’s high-quality congresses, the Organising Committee, chaired by Roland Seiler, has once again been able to ensure a thought-provoking as well as socially attractive European congress under the theme of ‘Theories and Applications for Performance, Health and Humanity’. With the successful 2011 13th FEPSAC Congress in Madeira and the 2013 FEPSAC European Conference in Paris in mind, I’m sure that the 2015 14th FEPSAC Congress in Bern will raise the bar even higher and provide not only an excellent opportunity to enhance our knowledge of sport psychology but also to meet and exchange thoughts and ideas with colleagues from all over the world in a wonderful touristic region. I’m sure that this congress will once again strengthen FEPSAC’s development!
