The Japanese Studies Association of Australia (JSAA) is delighted to host SYDNEY-ICJLE2014, a joint conference for the International Conference on Japanese Language Education (ICJLE) and the National Symposium: Japanese Language Education, in Sydney. The conference will be held from 10th to 12th July at the University of Technology, Sydney with the Conference Dinner in the historic MacLaurin Hall at the University of Sydney, and administered by the University of New South Wales. It is also supported by University of Western Sydney, Wollongong University and Macquarie University. The six universities in Sydney region have come together to support JSAA to deliver the conference. SYDNEY-ICJLE2014 follows the 1998 International Symposium in Tokyo on Japanese Language Teaching and subsequent ICJLE conferences in Seoul (2000), Tienjin (2002), Tokyo (2004), New York (2006) and Pusan (2008), Sydney (2009), Taiwan (2010), Tienjin (2011) and Nagoya (2012).
SYDNEY-ICJLE2009 features research and discussion in various disciplines of Japanese language and studies. The main theme of the conference will be "CONNECTIONS AND COMMUNITIES.” The conference aims to provide a forum for Japanese language and studies academics and educators from around the world, along with the primary, secondary teachers participating in the National Symposium, to meet and share ideas beyond and across their disciplines.
