WUWNet'18 will be held in Shenzhen, China. Note that since 2012, WUWNet has become a standalone conference with an extended scope to underwater networks and systems. The conference will include keynote speeches, plenary talks, panel discussions, technical presentations, and poster/demo sessions. The scope of the WUWNet conference covers a broad range of research directions relevant tounderwater sensing, communications, networking, robotics, systems, and applications.
General Co-Chairs:
Jingdong Chen (Northwestern Polytechnical University)
Technical Program Committee (TPC) Co-Chairs
Zheng Peng (City University of New York )
Dario Pompili (Rutgers University)
The Earth is a water planet: over 70% of the planet surface is covered by water. Therefore, the advances of the underwater communication, networking, and system technology can make significant impacts to the planet Earth. Consequently, there is a rapid growing interests of this research area from both academia and industry.
WUWNet is the premier venue for sharing the state-of-the-art research and development of underwater networks and systems, as it brings together leading scientists and entrepreneurs from all over the world. This year, we are delighted to announce that WUWNET 2018 will be held in Shenzhen, Guangdong, December 3-5. Shenzhen is one of the most vibrant and fast growing cities in China. Conveniently located near Hongkong,Shenzhen is the world hub of electronics manufacturing. Also, Shenzhen is recognized by the Chinese National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC) and State Oceanic Administration (SOA) as a global leading maritime city, which makes it an ideal location for this year edition of WUWNET.
The conference will span three days, including presentations of keynote speeches, plenary talks, panel discussions, technical papers, and posters/demos sessions. We invite academia and industry participants from a broad range of backgrounds relevant to underwater sensing, communications, networking, robotics, systems, and applications to participate in the conference. Specific topics include, but are not limited to:
Submissions for technical papers must describe original research, not published or currently under review for other workshops, conferences, journals, or magazines.
All papers will be reviewed by the program committee members for novelty and originality of the contribution. The conference accepts fulland short papers. Short papers may represent less mature work than full papers, or may contain new ideas to be further developed in future research. Full papers should be more complete in their treatment of the topic. Paper submission will be handled electronically.
Authors should prepare a PDF version of their papers. The page limit for full papers is 8 pages, and that for short papers is 5 pages in standard ACM conference format.
In addition, position papers with 2-page extended abstracts (in standard ACM conference format) can be submitted for, e.g., for fast dissemination of interesting intermediate results of undergoing research, promising progresses, educational overview on the state of the art in this field, and insightful analysis of the historical or futuristic developments on various underwater topics. Full- and short-paper submissions that are not accepted may be recommended to be accepted as position papers (2-page extended abstracts).
Please see the conference website for submission details, definitive formatting guidelines and sample templates. All accepted papers and extended abstracts are subject to the deadlines specified below and will be included in the conference proceedings.
For standard ACM conference format, here are the suggested templates: Latex and MS Word.
