The 18th annual IEEE Canada Electrical Power and Energy Conference (EPEC 2018) will take place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in October 2018. This will be the first time that EPEC has been hosted in Canada’s largest city.
With 82 per cent of Canadians now living in urban areas, the theme will be “Clean Technologies for Smart Cities”. EPEC 2018 is a conference that provides an opportunity for experts from the private sector, academia, government and other interested organizations from Canada and abroad to present and discuss the latest developments in electric power and energy systems, including research and development, industrial and business trends, as well as emerging regulatory and policy challenges. This includes debate on the potential impact of these developments on society. The conference provides an international forum for the exchange of ideas with thought leaders and the presentation of peer-reviewed papers on the latest power and energy R&D initiatives, applications and implementations. Please visit the registration section to reserve your spot. For all other EPEC 2018 inquiries, please contact the organizing committee at info@epec2018 .ieee.ca.

Authors
The paper submission deadline has now passed and the review process has begun. However, we have opened up a special track for late-breaking papers through June 15, 2018 to ensure that we capture the very latest research and developments in power and energy. We encourage you to visit EDAS to submit your papers using this track.
The technical committee would like to thank all authors for their submissions.
Before you submit your paper for EPEC 2018, here’s what you need to know:
The format of the paper should follow the IEEE conference paper style. You can download a template and style guide here.
EPEC 2018 will only accept the electronic submission in pdf format of a full paper in English.
Conference papers are limited to six (6) pages, without incurring extra page charges. The paper may be extended to eight (8) pages. In such a case, extra page charges will be applied.
EPEC 2018 proceedings will be submitted to IEEE Xplore.
EPEC 2018 authors are invited to submit extended versions of their presented conference papers for publication in the IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering (CJECE) special issue within four weeks of the conference final day (i.e. by November 11, 2018). The extended manuscript must be significantly extended (by a minimum of 30 per cent) in its overall technical content and research results beyond the scope of the conference paper published in the EPEC 2018 conference proceedings. The extended manuscript will go through another separate review according to CJECE’s review process. For more details, please visit journal.ieee.ca.
