In the last decades, a rich ecosystem of entities has been developed at the national level, made up of universities, research centers, SMEs and large companies, with innovative technological capabilities, which continuously approach new technological projects, individually or in cooperation.
The marked applied and finalist character of the defense and security R & D, which seeks to transfer the latest technological advances to the systems used by the FAS and FCSE in their missions, in addition to the accelerated rate of advancement of technology and the existence of multiple R & D & I initiatives aimed at addressing technological challenges in this sector, makes it advisable that there be a reference event for all the parties involved in which they can pool their abilities, needs and interests to collaborate.
On this basis, the Ministry of Defense organizes the VI National Congress of R & D in Defense and Security, giving continuity to this initiative that has been held annually since 2013.
This congress is a forum for meeting the academic, research, business and FCSE and FAS, fostering their interrelation and favoring the generation of synergies among them.
This Congress will present the results of the most recent research work related to Defense and Security, from a scientific and technological point of view, facilitating the exchange of experiences, ideas and research projects in the different areas of knowledge that are included .
The General Subdirectorate of Planning, Technology and Innovation of the General Directorate of Armament and Material, the General Directorate of Recruitment and Military Education, together with the University Centers of Defense and Isdefe (Systems Engineering for the Defense of Spain), have the pleasure to inform them of the celebration of the VI National Congress of R & D in Defense and Security (DESEi + d 2018), which will take place in the Cavalry Academy of the Army located in Valladolid, on November 20, 21 and 22 of 2018 .
In line with the previous editions, this Congress is presented as a forum and meeting point for all agents related to R & D in the field of Defense and Security, where you will have the opportunity to present and disseminate the results of the latest research and work done in any of the thematic areas related to Defense and Security.

Criteria for the Presentation of Communications
Scientific-technological interest: level of innovation, advance in knowledge, relationship with some of the areas of the congress, originality of the proposal.
Interest / applicability for the Defense and Security sector.
Technical-formal quality: writing, comprehension, technical argumentation, etc.
Cooperation: participation of different types of entities (universities, CUD, research centers, FCSE and FAS, companies, etc.).

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
Before the communication is accepted, a summary of a maximum of 300 words will be evaluated. These summaries ( abstracts ) can be uploaded through the Easychair platform .
ACCEPTANCE OF ABSTRACTS
Acceptance of abstracts will be communicated by email to the contact author specified when submitting the abstract.
SUBMISSION OF COMMUNICATIONS
The accepted contributions will be written in Spanish and must have a minimum length of six pages and no more than eight.
Soon the template to be filled in will be attached to send the communications .
REVIEW OF COMMUNICATIONS
The process of reviewing the communications will be carried out by evaluators assigned by the Scientific Committee.
The articles of the accepted papers will be reviewed prior to their publication in the minutes of the Congress.
The Scientific Committee reserves the right of admission of those communications whose content is not considered appropriate within the theme of the Congress and will be derived in a poster format
CRITERIA FOR PRESENTATION OF PAPERS
The papers will not last more than 20 minutes, these will be distributed in 15 minutes of oral presentation, followed by a question time of 5 minutes. The criteria for the acceptance of the papers are the following:
- Scientific-technological interest: level of innovation, advance in knowledge, relationship with some of the areas of the congress, originality of the proposal.
- Interest / applicability for the Defense and Security sector.
- Technical-formal quality: writing, comprehension, technical argumentation, etc.

ACTS OF THE CONGRESS
The Minutes will be available from the start date of the Congress and will be published at the end of the Congress.
CESSION OF RIGHTS
The authors assign in favor of the General Subdirectorate of Publications and Cultural Patrimony of the Ministry of Defense, the rights of reproduction and public communication of their works, which contribute as a personal contribution for the conception, elaboration and creation of the collective literary works of publications of said Congress. Likewise, they authorize the General Subdirectorate for Planning, Technology and Innovation to include references to their work in newsletters and press releases that may be drawn up as a result of the congress.

Isdefe announces the Third Edition of the "ANTONIO TORRES R & D ISDEFE PRIZE" within the framework of the VI National Defense and Security R & D Congress (DESEi + d 2018) .The general bases of the award and the call will be published soon .
