Since the first meeting in 1970, the Gordon Research Conference on Electron Donor Acceptor Interactions has become the premier international forum to showcase transformative theoretical and experimental research on electron and energy transfer in molecular, supramolecular, and biological systems. In combination with the GRS, this meeting has come to welcome a significant cohort of younger researchers. The 2018 meeting will explore how the molecular principles that control charge flow at the level of single molecules play out in the milieu of complex functional man-made materials, nanostructured interfaces, biological membranes, multi-species biological communities and, indeed, at the global scale. Specific session themes include molecular charge transport in solar photochemistry, functional synthetic materials inspired by biology, infra-red control of electron transport reactions, multi-electron transport within biomolecules, transport of electrons beyond the cell and between organisms, and intrinsically quantum effects on electron transfer.
