Building and home automation systems are becoming widely used in controlling our comfort and the energy and cost efficient operation of our build environment. Their increasing use is opening new challenges in operating heterogenic large scale IoT systems. They require new approaches to design and integration, novel monitor, control and optimization approaches as well as natural interactive user interfaces. The special session targets novel research and experimental results in this area.
Topics of the Session:
Advanced control (predictive control, model-predictive control, event-based control, cooperative systems, agent-based optimization)
Simulation support for building automation (simulation based optimizations, grey box modelling, stochastic modelling, model calibration, tools for assessment of optimization measures)
Data analytics (building performance analysis, forecasting, machine-learning, cloud technologies, occupancy modelling, cognitive systems)
Fault Detection and Diagnosis (fault detection, data-driven, model-based, rule-based diagnosis)
Sensor and actuator networks (wireless networks, wired networks, hybrid technologies)oLow-power solutions (design of ultra-low power wireless sensor networks and embedded systems)
Availability (self-adaptation, fault tolerance, reliability, safety and security)
Interoperability (semantics, gateway and middleware technologies, metadata modelling, design automation, building information modelling)oArchitectures (system architectures, cloud computing, integration into smart grids and IoT)
Smart Home Technologies (sensor technologies, multimedia integration, service robotics)
Natural User Interfaces (speech interfaces, assistant technologies, augmented and mixed reality)
Applications and demonstrations (practice, methodologies, and architectures)
