Electromechanical systems as a combination of electrical and mechanical systems has received much attention in recent years due to the complexity of engineering applications in terms of scale, accuracy, safety and control, see for instance, wind turbines, manufacturing engineering, vehicles, medical devices. Therefore, the selection of an electrical drive system for a specific application becomes a challenging topic in both academic and industry levels and is mainly depending on the existing technologies and the integration of mechanical and electrical components in the system level.
The purpose of this special session is to provide an opportunity for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to propose their latest theoretical and technological achievements in electrical drive and control for electromechanical systems. All the submissions are expected to have original ideas and new approaches. Papers on presenting newly emerging fields are especially welcome.
Topics of the Session:
Mathematical modelling and measurements for electromechanical systems
Motor drive for control
Robust fault diagnosis, fault isolation and fault tolerant control
Hardware in the loop (HiL) framework in electrical drive
Industrial applications such as wind turbines, manufacturing engineering, vehicles, medical devices
