The Chinese American Educational Research and Development Association (CAERDA), affiliated with the American Educational Research Association (AERA), is an international professional organization of educators and educational researchers. It is committed to the excellence in learning and instruction across the educational spectrum. CAERDA holds an annual international conference in the United States. The conference serves as an open forum for interdisciplinary discussion and scholarly exchange of ideas. Through this forum, educational researchers and practitioners can present their original research and draw implications for a broad educational community. The conference program primarily consists of empirical studies selected through a blind peer-review process. Additionally, there are invited presentations, symposia, and panel discussions that feature an annual conference theme. Selected high quality papers are invited to submit to CAERDA’s peer-reviewed online journal, the New Waves-Educational Research and Development, or to CAERDA’s featured publication in its book series.
In order to provide an additional venue for the vast majority of colleagues in China to exchange research ideas and findings besides its annual conference in the United States, CAERDA has already held two special international conferences outside the United States successfully. One was held in Xi’an in 2014 and the other in Taichung in 2015. Invited by Lingnan Normal University, CAERDA is going to have its third international conference in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, China.
Zhanjiang City is located on the Leizhou Peninsula, the southern end of Mainland China. As a seaside garden city, Zhanjiang is famous for its beautiful scenery, subtropical climate, green vegetation and delicious seafood. Particularly in December, visitors still can enjoy a very pleasant weather and beautiful scenery, which makes Zhanjiang an ideal place to hold such an international conference.
