The International Symposium Smart Health Care Applications (SHCA 2017) is pleased to invite you to respond to our Call for Submissions for SmartTechCon2017, to be held from 17 - 19 August 2017 at the REVA University, Bangalore, India.
Smart health care has significant implications to the society. For example, many countries are facing the aging population problem and challenges from chronic diseases, which requires a multidisciplinary approach to address. Smart health solutions bring together wearable technology, clinical big data, and operations analytics, which make aging-in-place possible and long-term chronic disease management easier. Hence, we welcome such smart health studies that address issues surrounding the quality and provision of medical and social care for elderly and chronic patients. As another example, data analytics and image processing technologies can be used in the automatic processing of medical image diagnostics, which can significantly improve the efficiency of medical services. Smart health care solutions on such areas with societal impacts are also highly welcome.
The purpose of the symposium on Smart Health Care is to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in the application of information and communication technologies (ICT) to healthcare and medicine in general and to the support of persons with special needs in particular.
Databases, networking, graphical interfaces, data mining, machine learning, intelligent decision support systems and specialized programming languages are just a few of the technologies and research areas currently contributing to medical informatics. Mobility and ubiquity in healthcare systems, physiological and behavioral modeling, standardization of technologies and procedures, certification, privacy and security are some of the issues that medical informatics professionals and the ICT industry and research community in general are addressing in order to further promote ICT in healthcare. In the case of medical rehabilitation and assistive technology, research in and applications of ICT have contributed greatly to the enhancement of quality of life and full integration of all citizens into society.
