The Asian Consortium on Computational Materials Science (ACCMS) was established in 2000 to nurture and promote research and development activities in computational materials in Asian countries. The first conference of ACCMS (ACCMS-1) was successfully held in Bangalore, India in 2001. Then, the meeting was held in Novosibirsk in 2004 (ACCM-2), Beijing in 2005 (ACCMS-3), Seoul in 2007 (ACCMS-4), Hanoi in 2009 (ACCMS-5), Singapore in 2011 (ACCMS-6), Nakhon Ratchasima in 2013 (ACCMS-7) and Taipei in 2015 (ACCMS-8).
Computational Materials Science has emerged as a multidisciplinary field of science that plays an important role in the frontiers of materials research and in the advancement of technology. In 2017, Malaysia will proudly host the 9th conference of the Asian Consortium on Computational Materials Science (ACCMS-9) from 9th to 11th August. The event is jointly organised by the ACCMS, Center of Fundamental of Science and Self-Assembly (FSSA) and Center of Theoretical Physics (CTP), the University of Malaya and other cooperating institutions locally and internationally.
In addition to the three-day conference (9-11 August) which consists of plenary sessions, invited talks, contributed talks and poster presentation, pre-conference short course will be held on 8 August to introduce new computational methods and/or emerging computational trends to beginners and those who may be interested in exploring new methods in their research.
The hosting city Kuala Lumpur (KL) has its own charming character known for its colorful cultures, foods, races and traditions. The city has many interesting architecture, prominent landmarks and building developed over years from a small tin Miners Settlement to a growing modern city currently. The conference venue (Berjaya Time Square Hotel) is located in the heart of KL city center near to many attractions such as the Petronas Twin Tower, Central Market, Petaling Street Night Market, and etc…
Academicians, scientists, researchers, including graduate students from all over the world are invited to participate in this conference and share their scientific experience. We looking forward to welcome all of you in KL, Malaysia.
