The Application of FIR Digital Filters to the Quick Recognition of DC Short-circuit Current

In order to provide less disturbance signals of short-circuit fault current for the quick recognition of DC short-circuit, a finite impulse response (FIR) digital filter based on distributed algorithm was proposed and the design of 63 order filter was implemented. The result of simulations of Matlab and Modelsim proves its effectiveness and linear phase distribution. The use of DA not only saves the resourse of hardware, but also raises the speed of digital signal process. Test on an actual system verified the effectiveness of this digital filter.
