This paper reports a novel numerical model for vapor dynamics in reduce pressure. Simulating vapor dynamics behavior from the electrode is greatly important to understand the arc behavior at reduced pressure, for example, in a vacuum circuit breaker. The proposed model is based on the moving particle semi-implicit (MPS) method for vapor including neutrals and ions, and their behavior are assumed to follow the fluid dynamics equations such as the equation of motion and the energy conservation equation. The MPS method is useful to simulate fluid behavior with free boundary. On the other hand, the electric field and magnetic field were obtained by the finite volume method (FVM). The energy conservation equation was also solved to obtain electron temperature by FVM. Here, a preliminary result is described on the behavior of vapors from the electrode at reduced pressure.
