The permanent magnet direct-driven motor for high voltage circuit breaker should not only meet the requirements of circuit breaker speed, high starting torque and dynamic response ability, but also to meet the high voltage circuit breaker mechanical life requirements of the operation. In this paper, a new type of permanent magnet synchronous motor based on V-type rotor magnetic circuit structure is presented. It is shown by theoretical analysis and parameter calculation: the key of permanent magnet direct-driven motor design is to optimize the motor structure, improve magnetic flux density and reduce the weight of the rotor. A 140kW permanent magnet direct-driven motor is designed, which adopts the method of combining field and circuit. It uses the FLUX electromagnetic simulation software to calculate the electromagnetic field of the prototype, and carries out the no-load test. The experimental results are in agreement with the calculated values and the simulation results. The results show that this kind of drive motor can meet the performance requirements of high voltage circuit breakers.
