Here an Ultra wide band concentric three layered ‘Annular Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna’ and a monopole antenna has been designed and developed which is excited by a coaxial probe antenna. This proposed antenna has a frequency range of 7.67 to 16.52 GHz, which is used in VSAT uplink and down link purpose. This range of frequency is used for direct broadcast satellite services. The proposed DRA is theoretically analyzed, including design concept, design guideline, parameter study etc. By using probe feed, the fundamental mode TM01δ mode is achieved. The simulated impedance bandwidth is 73.17% which is 17% more as compared to an earlier version using same cylindrical DRA. The radiation efficiency of the proposed antenna more than 98% and gain obtain here is 6.37 dB. The proposed antenna has a good radiation pattern which is very much suitable for satellite services.
