In this paper, a novel method for calculating virtual polarization filter is described. Interferences located in main lobe direction cause target masking. Unfortunately, traditional adaptive beamformers and eigensubspace projection methods can’t suppress interference signals effectively.By using sample data and scanning property of antenna, orthogonal polarization decomposition and estimation is employed based on characteristics of the antenna so that the interference can be diminished. In this paper, a novel method for calculating virtual polarization filter is described. Our new method tries to calculate polarization filter coefficients by using jammer estimated polarizations. Because we used polarization information of interference in filter designation it can unmask target robustly. Simulation results show that this method can unmask target effectively and extract target range cells and improve target identification.
