Import Technology Spillover,Correlation Effect and its Influence on Improving China Industrial Productivity: anAnalysis Based on Structural Decomposition
Based on trans-national andtrans-industrial panel data collected fromOECD-STAN, UNCOMTRADE and China Statistical Yearbooks, and by full consideration of knowledgeheterogeneity from both country and industryaspects, also considering industrial correlation effect between manufacturing and service,thestudymainlyfocuses on import technology spilloverand its diversified decomposition characteristics, and its influence on improving industrial productivity.Main findings show: (1) In consideration of the intra-industrial and inter-industrial correlation effect, technology spillover of import has showed an apparent influence on improving industrial productivity, enhanced correlation effect here played an important catalytic role. (2) Under influence of the correlation effect, and compared withtheintra-industrial correlationeffect,theinter-industrial correlation effect has played a more prominent role in promoting productivity in both manufacturingand service.(3) Through correlation of reverse requirementand forward input, technology spillover inmanufacturingorserviceeachhasshownmoreinfluence in improving productivity on the other. Finally, from aspects of strengthening industrial correlation, especially industrialcorrelation between manufacturingand service, and accumulation of human capital, it provides some essential suggestion.
