An active insulation detection method with low-frequency AC signal injection was proposed with high anti-noise and online capability. And there were two detection stages in this method: fault detection stage and the insulation resistance calculation stage. In the first stage, the voltage of measurement resistance was online detected, so the positive-negative parallel resistance values could be calculated, which would determine the fault status. When the fault of insulation resistance happened, the load circuit and the AC signal source were disconnected, and then two resistors were connected in parallel with positive and negative insulation resistance respectively. So terminal voltage of two resistors could be measured, and a model would be constructed to calculate the positive and negative insulation resistance values respectively. Simulation test results show that the false alarm rate is less than 2.15% by the proposed method.
