Given that the link of deep space communication is so long that the received signal is very weak, which can not be demodulated and decoded at a given BER. Wavelet threshold method was proposed to extract the weak signal. Steps of extracting weak signal by wavelet threshold was given in detail. Carrier-to-Noise Ratio (CNR) and correlation coefficients between estimated signal and real signal were simulated. Based on the simulation results, this paper analysed the results and compared the performances between non-translation-variance wavelet threshold and translation-variance wavelet threshold. At last, we come to the conclusions: wavelet threshold method can effectively improve the CNR of signal and the correlation coefficients between estimated signal and real signal. After extracting the weak signal, the receiver system can work well; translation-variance wavelet threshold can work better than the non-translation-variance wavelet threshold
