摘要
Objective:This study used EMA combined with longitudinal follow-up to examine the effects of childhood trauma and the dynamics of stressful life events on changes in the variability of suicidal ideation among college students from an early and recent stress perspective.
Methods:In this study, 500 freshmen from a university in Tianjin were expected to be recruited as subjects for four consecutive short-term EMA longitudinal follow-up studies with three-month intervals (Dec. 24, Mar. 25, May, and Aug.) lasting one year. Baseline data on childhood trauma, stressful life events, and suicidal ideation were collected at the end of November 24, and each EMA session lasted 7 days, with subjects completing 3 questionnaires each day, prompted by the primary subject, which assessed suicidal ideation, stressful life events, and suicidal risk factors in the ‘here and now’ of the subjects.
Results & Discussion:In terms of findings, we will (1) examine the current status of childhood trauma, baseline stressful life events, and suicidal ideation among freshmen, as well as temporal trends in changes in variability of suicidal ideation over a one-year tracking period; (2) examine the effects of childhood trauma, and baseline stressful life events on changes in the variability of suicidal ideation (SI) over a one-year period for freshmen; and (3) examine the predictive role of the variability in the one-year time period of stressful life events on the variability of suicidal ideation variability over a one-year period; and (3) to examine the predictive role of stressful life events (SLEs) on the variability of suicidal ideation.
Conclusions:The content of this study aims to more accurately portray and refine the dynamic characteristics of suicidal ideation, to make up for the lack of relevant research in this area, to contribute to a better understanding of the changes in suicidal ideation in the short term, and to help clinical practitioners to identify potential suicidal risks in a timely manner, thus providing effective support for subsequent intervention efforts.
