Concept of an AC power supply for DRMP coils on J-TEXT tokamak based on PMMFM BDFM and HIA

摘要
One of the main methods for controlling the instability of tokamak magnetohydrodynamics is to actively apply disturbance magnetic fields using active control coils. In order to conduct research on the control of tearing mode instability by external perturbation magnetic fields, a dynamic resonance magnetic perturbation (DRMP) system was developed on a tokamak. The power supply is the core component of the system, providing excitation current to the DRMP coils. At present, the existing AC power supply for DRMP coil on J-TEXT is based on an H-bridge series resonant inverter. Although the performance parameters of the power supply structure are good, there is a problem of high-frequency oscillation of the output voltage, which can cause signal interference to the diagnostic system of the tokamak device. What’s more, the frequency of output voltage cannot be adjustable according to the diagnostic signal in real time. In order to overcome the above difficulties, this paper proposes an AC power supply for DRMP coils on J-TEXT based on permanent magnet magnetic field modulation (PMMFM) BDFM and homopolar inductor alternator (HIA), which has the advantages of easy feedback control and very low coupling of signal interference between the AC power supply and diagnostic system of the tokamak device. The system diagram and working principle of the AC power supply for the DRMP coils on J-TEXT is introduced. Then the structure of the three electrical port motor which combined the PMMFM BDFM and the outer-rotor PMSM is presented. Finally, the function of the proposed AC power supply for the DRMP coils on J-TEXT based on PMMFM BDFM and HIA is verified through finite element simulation.
