Experimental observation of relativistic dense electron sheets from a double layer target

摘要
Relativistic electron sheets can be an advantage for the generation of attosecond pulses. Here we report experimental observations of relativistic dense electron from a double layer target. Two-dimensional (2D) particle-in-cell(PIC) simulations indicate that the large transverse momentum of the laser-driven relativistic electrons mirror from the first foil is suppressed by interacting with the reflection of the driving pulse from the second foil. The measured electron energy and angular distributions are consistent with our 2D PIC simulations.
