摘要
X-ray Free Electron Lasers (XFELs) are revolutionizing various scientific domains, including high-energy-density science, thanks to their unparalleled brilliance, ultra-short pulse durations, and high spatial coherence. These features enable unprecedented observations and experiments. The XFEL facility SACLA [1] hosts an experimental platform combining an optical laser with an XFEL for laser dynamic compression experiments applicable to high-pressure science.
The platform [2] features a nanosecond long-pulse laser that delivers laser pulses with pulse energies exceeding 15 J. It is designed for investigating matter under high-pressure conditions [3, 4] and hydrodynamic phenomena [5] by utilizing X-ray diffraction and imaging techniques.
In this presentation, I will share the capabilities of the platform and highlight recent experimental achievements related to high-pressure science.
