Three kinds of Intense Electron-beam Accelerators based on Pulse Forming line at NUDT

摘要
Three kinds of Intense Electron-beam Accelerators (IEBA) based on Pulse Forming line (PFL) in National University of Defense Technology (NUDT) of China are presented. These IEBAs all consist of primary energy, pulse transformer, triggered switch, vacuum diode and PFL. The output power and pulse duration of these IEBAs are all 10 GW and 100ns, respectively, and the biggest difference of the three kinds of IEBA is the PFL. The first type of the PFL is called double PFLs fabricated with two separate coaxial single PFLs with the same dimensions. The second type of the PFL is called triple coaxial Blumlein line formed by the inner cylinder, middle cylinder and outer cylinder. The third type of the PFL is called racetrack Blumlein line formed by two inner cylinders, two middle cylinders and one outer cylinder that resembles a runway shape. To obtain the characteristics of the three kinds of PFLs, the properties of the double PFLs, triple coaxial Blumlein line and racetrack Blumlein line are detailed in the this paper.
