This work delves into Malaysia's remarkable strides in the field of oceanography, focusing on the recent effort in exploring the dynamic and productivity of southern South China Sea.
Through cutting-edge research and technological advancements, Malaysia has been unravelling the upwelling system along the peninsular Malaysia and understand the connectivity of the boundary currents that continue from the northern part of SCS and reach Karimata Straits. This has provide a very interesting perspective of SCS throughflow.
In addition, Malaysia's efforts in ocean forecasting stand as a testament to its commitment to sustainability and disaster preparedness. By leveraging state-of-the-art modeling and predictive tools, regional partnership has allow the development of this system that is part of UN Ocean Decades program that significantly contribute to the national ocean progress. The discussion extends to the critical domain of climate prediction. Currently we are conducting various program including downscaling of global climate model in our effort to understand the impact that the ocean will have towards our region. Although the effort is far from complete, unveiling the nation's contributions to dynamical oceanography, productivity analysis of the South China Sea, and climate prediction will provide an overview of our current effort and progress in service of a better understanding of our oceans and the environment
