Numerical Calculation and Experimental Study of Ultraviolet Photoelectron Emission Yield of Metallic Aluminum

Aiming at the problem of surface charging of exposed materials faced by spacecraft operation in orbit, this paper analyzes the photoelectron emission mechanism of metallic aluminum. Based on the three-step theoretical model of photoelectron emission, the expression of photoelectron emission yield of metallic materials is derived, and the numerical calculation of photoelectron emission yield of aluminum materials is completed. At the same time, the test of metallic aluminum was carried out by using the ultraviolet photoelectron emission spectral test system for space materials, and the results show that the photoelectron emission yield of metallic aluminum is 10-2-10-6 in the wavelength range of 120 nm-240 nm. As the wavelength of the incident light increases, the photoelectron emission yield of the material decreases, and the theoretical results are analyzed and discussed.
