The issues of wide-bandwidth high-power laser based on discrete multi-color combination 姚轲

Laser-plasma instabilities is one of the most critical problems in laser fusion. And the wide-bandwidth laser may be the key to increase the instability threshold and enlarge the ICF space. In this paper, a wide-bandwidth high-power laser based on discrete multi-color combination was proposed. This wide-band laser consists of eight beamlets with four different wavelengths ranging from 350.33 nm to 351.67 nm. The issues of four-color wavelength generation, laser energy maximizing and temporal waveform control were investigated. The total laser energy of 12 kJ and bandwidth of Δω/ω=0.38% were achieved. The experiments shown that the back-scattering energy of wide-bandwidth laser was reduced by 36% compared with that of monochromatic laser at the same conditions.
