Bright laser-driven Betatron radiation and dynamic imaging application

Laser-driven Betatron radiation developed in recent years has shot duration,micro spot and broad energy spectrum, offering potential route for ultrafast X-ray imaging technology. Based on the 100TW laser facility, we developed a special density-modulation gas chamber, which can produce bright and collimated X-ray sources with moderate energy. The single-shot yield achieved 109 photons, reaching the advanced level of similar scale devices in the world. An experimental platform for dynamic X-ray imaging is established based on the synchrotron-like radiation source, which achieves spatial resolution better than 4 μm and temporal resolution better than 1 ps. As a result, the transient process of high-velocity flyers ware experimentally measured and high-resolution images of flyer formation are obtained. These results provide feasible and effective access for situ X-ray imaging of flyer dynamics, plasma evolution and other transient process.
