Backscatter spectra diagnostic implemented on a cluster platform of 100kJ laser facility

Backscatter spectra diagnostic is being implemented on a cluster platform of 100kJ laser facility to explore the spectra characteristics of both the Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) and Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS).There are two types of spectra diagnostic measuring the backscattered light collected by the incident light aperture. The SBS (351±2 nm) and SRS (400-600 nm) time-resolved spectra are separately recorded with a streak camera equipped with a spectrometer. Eight fibers with different length direct the SBS and SRS light from four beam lines to the spectrometer. The time resolution is ~ 20 ps. The time-integrated calibration spectra are also measured from a scatter plate to obtain the calibrated energy. Four fiber signals are vertically multiplexed at the input of a spectrometer coupled to a gated CCD camera. The instrument is calibrated with a high-power lamp located at the target center of the chamber. Measurements of the backscatter spectra allow for a further understanding of the mechanism of laser energy coupling and a complementary inference of the laser energy loss.
