Research on Propagation Attenuation Compensation Algorithm of PD Signal in Distribution Cable Lines

摘要
Off-line partial discharge detection technology has become an important means of distribution cable line state detection, but the current common partial discharge detection equipments don’t consider the attenuation effect of partial discharge propagation characteristics on the detected apparent partial discharge, which is easy to cause defect omission when the line is long or the wave impedance inside the line is distorted. It not only reduces the significance of power failure detection, but also may leave hidden dangers in the line and cause line failure.
In this paper, the propagation attenuation characteristics of cable PD signals are simulated and analyzed by ATP software modeling, and a fast calculation method for PD signal propagation attenuation coefficient is designed based on the offline PD test verification data, so as to compensate the detected partial discharge at the test end.
By comparing the calculated results with the measured data, the compensation errors of partial discharge amplitude and pulse width obtained by attenuation compensation algorithm are basically controlled within ± 5%.
The calculation results show that the PD signal propagation attenuation compensation algorithm proposed in this paper is reliable.
