Purpose/Aim

The noises produced by the core vibration during the operation of power equipment not only pollutes people's living environment, but also greatly reduces the service life of the equipment. In recent years, people's environmental awareness is gradually improving. The vibration and noise of power equipment has become the key standard to measure the quality of its products. How to reduce the vibration and noise has become a problem to be solved by scientific research institutions and manufacturing industry. In order to improve the calculation speed of transformer and reactor vibration, it is significant to quantitatively study the influence of magnetostriction in different directions on each position of transformer and reactor core.

Experimental/Modeling methods

In this paper, the influence of magnetostriction in RD and TD directions on the vibration of transformer and reactor is analyzed quantitatively. The simulation results show that the magnetostriction in TD direction has a great influence on the vibration at the corner and T-joint of transformer and reactor.

Results/discussion

A set of one-dimensional single sheet magnetostriction measurement system (MST500) produced by Brockhaus company is used in the experiment. The magnetostriction in TD direction is much larger than that in RD direction when the magnetic field intensity is the same. This is because the magnetostriction in TD direction is relatively large because it is difficult to magnetize. Through the finite element calculation of transformer, it is found that the rotating magnetic flux density at the corner and T-joint of the transformer core is very high. Therefore, the magneto-striction in TD direction must be considered.

Conclusions

In this paper, the magnetostriction of silicon steel sample(B30P105) in RD and TD is measured and analyzed in detail. The influence of magnetostriction in RD and TD directions on the vibration of transformer and reactor is analyzed quantitatively. The simulation results show that the magneto-striction in TD direction has a great influence on the vibration at the corner and T-joint of transformer and reactor.
