Purpose/Aim

The quasi-DC current and DC current formed in the earth by solar magnetic storm and DC transmission will affect the magnetization characteristics of the transformer core and the normal operation of the power grid. The analysis of the magnetization characteristics of the transformer core under the condition of DC bias has important engineering significance for the stable operation of the power system and the design and manufacture of the transformer.

Experimental/Modeling methods

Power equipment design and manufacture and accident traceability are highly dependent on multi-physics simulation. In this paper, finite element technology is used to simulate under normal conditions and non-linear conditions of DC bias to obtain the electromagnetic field distribution of the transformer.

Results/discussion

The influence of DC bias on the electromagnetic field distribution of the transformer has a certain law, which provides the basis for the analysis of the complex operating state of the transformer.

Conclusions

The electromagnetic field distribution of transformers under different DC bias conditions is studied, and its variation law is analyzed to support the research on multi-physics fast simulation methods for power equipment.
