The trend in many fields of industry is to reduce the lifetime costs associated with the use of certain assets, e.g. rotating electrical machines and transformers. This essentially leads to more efficient upkeep and a more sustainable economy of each asset owner. The mentioned machines consist of many subsystems such as electrical insulating system, bearings, cooling etc., which are the weak points in the whole system. One of the key challenges in the field of diagnostics in power electrical engineering is to develop a multifactor aging model for such subsystems that estimates the contribution of each degradation factor. The objective of this paper is to develop a two-factor aging model of epoxy resin. These aging factors are temperature and relative humidity. The synergistic effect of these factors is discussed in this paper through obtained results. The Design of Experiments method is used for this purpose.
