The vibration of the transmission line will be caused when the ice coating falls off under natural conditions such as temperature. Jump height of iced transmission lines in the gap between the phase conductors and ground wire guide may be less than the corresponding insulation clearance, leading to flashover, burns and even burn out wire electrical accidents, but there is no reliable characterization of ice the size of the jump amplitude parameters, to reveal the influence law of various parameters on the ice to jump amplitude and establish the forecast model of amplitude size. Based on the numerical results, it is discovered that the maximum horizontal amplitude of a transmission line after ice shedding, which determines the phase-to-phase and phase-to-tower insulation clearances. The numerical analysis shows that the horizontal amplitude of ice-shedding increases with the change of line elevation difference, and finally becomes stable and related to the span length, which provides a reference for the calculation of horizontal amplitude of ice-shedding of transmission lines.
