The on-line monitoring device of dissolved gas in oil is an important starting point to understand the internal operation of large oil filled equipment such as transformer. However, the device has no unified maintenance strategy. At present, it basically adopts the strategy of "repairing only when it is broken", which seriously affects the real-time perception ability of the device to the health state of primary equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to further analyze the abnormal faults of on-line monitoring device for dissolved gas in oil.According to the components of the device, the device body faults were divided into 6 types of unit module faults. The data in this paper came from the online monitoring system of a province. It was the operation and maintenance records and monitoring data of the online monitoring device for dissolved gas in oil in recent three years. The device covered all devices installed since the deployment in 2013. Through the big data analysis of the operation and maintenance records of a province in recent three years, it was found that the main causes of the device failure are degassing and intelligent monitoring module failure.The failure frequency of each module of the oil chromatogram on-line monitoring device reaches the peak in 5-6 years after the device is put into operation. The failure of degassing module began to rise 4 years after the unit was put into operation, while the failure of intelligent monitoring module accelerated 4-5 years after the unit was put into operation.The minimum maintenance cycle of each module was obtained according to the occurrence frequency of various faults, which provided a basis for the transformation of maintenance strategy of on-line monitoring device for dissolution in oil to condition based maintenance.
