Phase controlled closing circuit breaker has been applied in closing capacitor, filter and converter. Although it is widely used, the effect of ambient temperature on its phase selection performance has not been deeply studied. In the past, this work was only carried out in the laboratory, and it was not under actual high voltage. This paper takes the filter field circuit breaker of the controlled closing converter station as the research object. Due to the frequent switching of the filter, a large number of switching data can be obtained, and through the field device, the closing time, ambient temperature, idle time, control voltage and other data can be obtained for research.  According to the research of this paper, for the controlled closing circuit breaker, it is most important to consider the influence of ambient temperature. In addition, it is clear that the mechanical dispersion is moderate within ± 1ms before putting into operation. RDDS performance cannot be fully verified in laboratory and field.
