Functional Evaluation of Integrated Passenger Transportation Hub Based on Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method

As the transportation infrastructure for residents in China is rapidly developing and the national integrated passenger transportation hubs are vigorously growing, it becomes more and more worthwhile to evaluate these specific hubs for using to maximum utilities. This paper aims to evaluate the utilization of integrated transportation hubs and promote their comprehensive functions.
Firstly, the factors that affect the functional utility of hubs are proposed. Then, the system for comprehensive passenger transportation functional evaluation is illustrated, which is the core part of our reach and it is constructed from five aspects: transportation organization function, function area service function, transfer distribution function, information guidance function and auxiliary service function. According to the attributes of the evaluation index and the ambiguity of the passenger survey evaluation, the fuzzy integrated evaluation method is used for evaluation, and the weight determination is based on the analytic hierarchy process. According to the results of expert scoring and passenger survey, the weights of evaluation indexes at all levels and fuzzy evaluation matrix are determined, and the evaluation results are finally calculated. Taking a high-speed rail-oriented integrated passenger transportation hub as an example, functional evaluation of the hub is carried out based the questionnaire survey during the holiday peak hours. The functional evaluation score of the hub is 3.032 points, whose function realization degree is relatively low, and it is consistent with the congestion during holiday peak hours. The case study verifies the effectiveness and feasibility of the evaluation system.
