With the continuous increase of highway mileage in China, the traffic accident rate of expressway exit section is still high. Therefore, based on real-time traffic data, the VMS information intelligent release of expressway exit is studied. Firstly, the traffic flow parameters are collected by the roadbed detector, and then the traffic reversal, traffic accident, lane closure and other events are determined by the shunt distance model and the traffic event judgment model. Finally, the VMS is used to provide the highway exit guidance information for the traveler. The study provides a reference for managers to provide intelligent highway exits and can be used as part of the highway ITS system.
