摘要
Exposure to particle pollution in transport microenvironments (TMEs) is associated with various adverse health effects. A number of studies have evaluated the exposure levels in different transport modes and health risk to commuters in TMEs, using trip or time weighted concentrations. However, the application of spatial techniques has been limited to in-transit studies, for both measurements and analyses. The object of this study is to understand how the concentrations of in-transit particle pollution vary over time and urban space, as well as the effect of travel conditions. To this end, we developed a mobile-based approach to measure the spatiotemporal information of particle concentrations and corresponding travel conditions during the trip. The measurements were performed during the regular service of public buses and metro running on the boulevard of Shenzhen (China) in the morning and evening peak hours. Methods and insights from this study can be beneficial to the detailed assessment of in-transit exposure and the decision-making on in-cabin air quality improvement.
