摘要
The rapid development of Electric vehicles (EVs) is expected to significantly contribute to the improvement of roadside air quality by reducing vehicle emissions. In fact, when the proportion of EVs increases, influence factors of emission, speed and acceleration may be changed in the entire traffic flow. Limited research effort has been dedicated to study the impact of EVs penetration on air quality, particularly on emissions. This research tackles the traffic emission reduction with considering the impact of EVs proportion. A adjusted traffic speed model is used in this study to evaluate the effectiveness of introducing electric vehicles (EVs) into the total traffic flow. Based on the dynamic traffic speed model, given an initial velocity distribution, the EVs influence on the distribution of road traffic speed is first calculated. With the results under different proportions of electric vehicles, combined with MOVES model, the emission effects were calculated respectively. The study use real world traffic data on highway segment in Beijing as initial velocity distribution. Final results show that the ratio of electric vehicles on the road is a nonlinear relationship with the impact on road emissions.
