摘要
Incident bottlenecks can cause severe congestion for highway traffic. With a vehicle to everything (V2X) environment, this problem can be alleviated. Most existing V2X controllers only adopt variable speed limit (VSL) control for different road segments. While in this paper, VSL and lane change (LC) control was integrated for different road segments and lane segments to maintain the ideal capacity of incident bottlenecks. The combined control system was developed by an extended cell transmission model (CTM) considering cars and trucks which aimed to predict mixed traffic change. The combined controller was solved by a genetic algorithm (GA) which tried to minimize a multiple objective function to improve traffic efficiency and smooth controller change. Simulation experiments carried in Sumo demonstrated that the integrated controller not only improved the overall traffic efficiency effectively but also had certain robustness to different traffic demand requirements and incident scenarios.
