摘要
The connected vehicle technology offers more accurate and abundant information to drivers, changing the form of traditional traffic models. In the connected circumstance, the acceleration of the preceding and following vehicles can be sent to the target vehicle for driver assisting. Under the circumstance, this paper proposes an extended intelligent driver model, considering the acceleration of the vehicle immediately preceding and following. The stability condition against a small perturbation is analyzed using linear stability theory for the proposed car-following model in the homogeneous traffic flow. Under the open boundary condition, simulations on a single lane are conducted to validate the theoretical analyzation. The results reveal that the new model improves the traffic flow stability compare to the traditional intelligent driver model (IDM), and the stability can be further improved by increasing the proportion of the acceleration of the preceding or following vehicle. It also found that the parameters should be kept in an appropriate range and obey certain rules.
